I am Carla, born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I lived in Argentina for 43 years, daughter of Argentines, granddaughter of Italians.

Mother of two beautiful girls, the first one was born with lovely labour at home and medicalized delivery at Hospital, with some intervention, which now I know none of them were necessarily needed. The second one was born in a powerful, physiological labour and birth at Home. So I have both experiences on my own.

I breastfed them for 2 and 3 years respectively.

Motherhood changed my life and I currently enjoy my role as a mother, practicing my medical profession independently in Argentina, and supporting mum and Baby as an International Certificated Lactation Consultant, Doula & Breastfeeding Supporter in London, UK.

I believe that every  woman in the first few days of motherhood has the right to be cared for by a Doula whom she knows and trusts. The opportunity to develop a relationship with a family during pregnancy and continue to care for them in their early days together is the most amazing privilege imaginable. And have all the support for her breastfeeding journey, even if something is not going as expected with a qualified specialist to advise her.

However, once I became mum in June 2005, my passion for breastfeeding and natural birth, promoting and defending human rights at birth, was on the rise after a beautiful labour finally lots of intervention in the birth. Hospital Italiano, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
